About

You are here: Home / About

Hi, I’m Karen.

I believe yoga and meditation allow us to remove obstacles from our path. The uncluttered path leads to dream realization.

After more than 10 years of suffering from chronic pain, I began practicing yoga, and now I enjoy a nearly pain free life. Specializing in guided meditations, yoga for pain relief, sports specific yoga, Iyengar and Vinyasa, I lead group, private, and corporate sessions worldwide.

I studied under yoga master Tao Porchon Lynch and have a Master’s Degree in Public Health Education with a specialization in Health Education and Nutrition.

Self care practices have transformed into me a person who feels great and is ready to partake in all of life’s possibilities. I am excited to share what I’ve learned with you!

Why Should I Practice Yoga?

Trust me, I’ve been there. I watched those folks march into the yoga room at the gym, and thought they were crazy. If I wanted to lay down, I could stay home. But then I kept noticing the way they looked when they left…taller, happier, glowy.

Yoga Helps the Pain Go Away

Pain is cyclical.  When it occurs, it causes stress, makes you upset, and the pain progresses.  Yoga breaks the pain cycle.  I was in pain for more than 10 years caused by ruptured discs in my neck.  The discs are still ruptured, for sure, but they no longer cause me pain.

Yoga Helps your Body Work Better

The definition of yoga is the union of the body and the mind.  No other exercise achieves this.  Yoga allows your body and your mind to work in concert with each other. Yoga strengthens your entire body and teaches you to be in tune with your breath and your entire being.

Yoga Helps You Be in Tune with Your Body & Mind

Regular practice will help you identify ailments sooner.  The same goes for negative thoughts, so you can stop them in their tracks.  Your time on the mat will allow you to access your inner superhero.

Yoga Helps Your Body Look Better

Long, lean muscles await you.  With regular practice, you will actually crave healthier food. Kale will become your new cupcake.  Well, not really, but you will enjoy newfound enthusiasm for foods your body actually needs.  Things will shift into place, no Spanx required.  Those days you powered through a plate of cookies and a 6 pack “just because” will be a distant memory.

Yoga Helps You Focus

Yoga requires your complete focus.  In today’s society it is difficult to completely focus on anything.  With regular yoga practice, you will find that you are able to fully focus on people and tasks throughout your day.  Decisions are made more quickly and intuition is strengthened.

Yoga Makes You Feel Better

Think of a time when you were walking your tallest, balanced perfectly on your feet, head held high.  Now imagine feeling like that every day.  Do yoga, get happy.
