Collagen Grits

Heck yeah!  You are going to want to add this recipe to your breakfast rotation.

Here I combine stone ground grits with collagen protein (excellent for hair, skin and joints).

Makes 4 servings.

1 1/2 cups water
1/4 tsp salt
1 Tbsp coconut oil
1/2 cup grits
1/2 cup coconut milk
8 Tbsp grass fed collagen protein (I used Bulletproof brand)


In a large pot, combine water, salt and oil.  Bring to a boil.  

Add grits, and return to a boil. 

Reduce heat to low and cook covered, stirring often,
for about 15-20 minutes. 

Add milk and stir for an additional 10 minutes until
liquid is mostly absorbed.  Stir in collagen. 

Serve into bowls and garnish with seasonal fruit,
unsweetened coconut chips, nuts, or seeds.
