The more nutrient dense anti-inflammatory foods I eat, the more like a superhero I feel.  And nothing makes me want to leap over tall buildings in a single bound more than greens, berries, and cocoa powder.  Combining the 3 superfoods in one smoothie will have you stepping into your starry hot pants and cape in a flash.

This smoothie is mindblowing because the greens are undetectable even by those with superpowers. In the internal battle of sweet vs healthy, both sides will emerge victorious.  To infinity and beyond!

3 large handfuls baby spinach and/or baby kale (aka cancer Kryptonite)

1/2-3/4 cup frozen mixed berries

1/2 frozen banana (buy many so you can create a secret stash, wait until they are crazy ripe, peel ’em, then freeze separately)

1-2 cups coconut, soy, or almond milk

4 TB best quality cocoa powder-I like Valrhona

Place all ingredients in the blender with 1 cup of milk, then continue to add milk and blend until desired consistency.


You can add your protein powder, just use water instead of milk

You can add other yummy flavorings like natural peppermint, vanilla, or almond oils.

Not sweet enough for you?  Try adding a couple of drops of liquid stevia.
